Ran into quite a disappointing issue with Print Shop 3.5.2 - when trying to create a project, if I insert more than 6 images on a page, I get an out of memory error. If I try to save the project that has 6 images, I get what appears to be a .NET XML parser out of memory error.

Hopefully someone has run into this and has a fix.

Thanks

If it helps, it was on a Toshiba laptop, Celeron dual core, 4GB memory running Windows 8

6 images don't usually cause a problem unless they are 6 massively large files.

Consider that you probably will print each image no bigger than 8x10 which requires an image file size of 2400x3000 pixels. That's 300 dpi which is about the highest resolution that the human eye can appreciate.

So check the properties of your image files. If they are way over 2400x3000 pixels, create a resampled copy using an image editor. Import these resampled images into PS.

OK, thanks for the information. They were full sized JPEGs - most about 4700 pixels on the long edge - so that would make sense with what your'e saying. I'll try resampled images next time.

Any way to resample when directly inserting from the library?

Thanks again

Sort of. After you import your image into the My Photos gallery, hover over the thumbnail and click "Edit Copy" which opens the photo in the Image Editor. Click the Positioning button, click the Resize icon. Enter new pixel dimensions. Save. This puts a resampled copy into the gallery. You can now bring that copy into your project.

If you have a program that can batch resample files, (i.e. Photo Shop Elements) it's much faster.

OK, thanks.

I use Lightroom, so I'll just resample on export - thanks again.
