I recently had to do a system recovery (not restore) on my Win 7 computer.
Since then, I have not been able to successfully install and run the Hoyle 2005 board games, or to run them from the CD.
They had previously been installed and working on this same computer.
Any help is appreciated.

What difficulties are you encountering? Can you post back any error messages you may be receiving during the install process? I've been able to get Hoyle Board 2005 to work well on Windows 7 but need some more info from you.

No error messages.
It goes through, or at least appears to, the install process, but when I click on the desktop icon, the screen momentarily goes black, flickers, then back to the desktop.
They ran fine prior to the recovery -- had to recover to Vista, then upgrade to Win 7.
I am also puzzled as to why I cannot run the games directly from the CD.
Any more info which might help?

When you see it go back to the desktop , do you still see the program icon in the task bar at the bottom?

Some machines while I can't track down the exact cause do this behavior. The solution was to click the program icon
in the system tray and it will go back to the game screen.

Jason, I tried it one more time, and I think I have it this time.
Before, I was trying to do a custom install without the bells and whistles.
This time I did a normal install, and I think it is OK. I'll disable the bells & whistles.

You should not have to disable anything to have a normal full experience of this game provided you did a normal install. Try to do a normal install one more time.

The optional install does not affect this version of the installer as I've noticed it installs the music and voices anyways.
