Project files with the extension .PSproj can be opened in The Print Shop 3.0 and 3.5. I do not know of a "version 1".

I have just the .PSproj file. When I try to open it I am told it can't locate the objects folder. Do I need to have the folder along with the project file?

The message may be a result of trying to open the file with a double-click. Try opening the file from within the program, from the Open button (looks like a folder), then browse to the location of the .PSproj file.

The files are greyed out and can't be accessed.

You should see something like my screen capture here:

Please confirm you have The Print Shop 3.5 installed on your computer.

Well, that would explain a lot. The file you were describing is for PC, as far as I know. Do you recall creating the file with The Print Shop for Mac?

If you go to the Print Shop Mac forum, you will see a pinned thread that may answer your question.

So one platform version can't open another. The original files were created on a pc.

The PC program is totally different than the Mac program.

If you need to see what's in the file, you can email me. I'll open it on my PC and convert it to PDF so you can open the PDF on your Mac.

I have 20 files that would need to be converted. Can you do that?

Maybe. How large are the files? My email may have problems with attachments over 10MB.

If someone created these files for your business, you could ask that person to send you PDF versions. Designers usually provide PDF files for viewing/printing.

In the Print Shop for Mac, we are using a proprietary file format called .tpspkg that is not interchangeable with different formats. It's possible to backup projects created with this version and restore them if you need to reload the computer but your PC projects are not compatible.

However as Ellengard has suggested on previous work-arounds that Print Shop can export projects as a JPG and then it would be possible to insert that image into a project in the Mac Program so you can overlay your design with additional clip art and the end result is a flattened project when the program embeds the additional graphics.
