I have downloaded CC12 to be installed on a new installation of Windows 10. After the download, installation and restart, (all with no errors) I get this message when opening the Brand New Program.

The configuration file
C:\Program Files (x86)\Calendar Creator\AGB\Startup.cfg

does not match

C:\Program Files (x86)\Calendar Creator\CCSku.DLL

--cannot continue.

This is an upgrade from CC10 which is not supported on Windows 10. I installed into the same directory as the previous installation. This should have been a simple upgrade. Please provide me with some direction.

Thank you for your assistance,
Insync

This advice probably applies to download versions, too.

Thank you ellengard,

Upon looking at my first installation, I did not turn off my Norton suite. However looking at my CC12 icon, it indeed does have the shield on the icon.

I did turn off my Norton suite and did an inplace reinstall, on top of the first install. Sadly after the restart I am receiving the same error message.

This is beyond my expertise as well, but I would definitely try to uninstall the older version first as ellegard suggested, and do the clean install that Jason suggests.

There's an older post on clean install that may include some additional tips provided for older operating systems:

There was a similar discussion a while back that makes me wonder if you're trying to install on a networked computer, which is not possible with CC?:

Did you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10? If so it's not going to be so easy as installing to the same directory as your old program is going to conflict with the install of the new one. You will need to uninstall using the control panel, and checking the program directory for any left over files. The advice of the Generic Clean Install is a good place to start.

So basically I lose all my settings and have to start over… great program design...

Start all over? Didn't you make a copy of your BCC files?

File> Open... browse to where your BCC file is located.
