I am using Print Master V8. I have designed using Avery Tent Cards #5302 with mail merge. When I try to print the program prints the same name on all 4 tent cards on each sheet. I need to print 4 different name on each tent card. Four different name on each sheet. How do I do this??? I have tried everything I can think of. Vivianne Sloane

It sounds like you have the wrong box ticked. You want one contact per item NOT per sheet.

That is the box that I have checked, but it doesn't seem to be working. If it cannot be made to work that I will want my money back.

Do you have multiple contacts checked?

Can you show a screen capture of your project? I want to check that the mail merge field looks correct.

I have 3 names in the address book and they are all selected.
I don't know how to take a screen shot and I don't know what you want me to take one of?

It would be helpful to see exactly what's on your screen when your project is opened in The Print Shop. If I could see it, I can point out the problem. You can google "how to make a screen capture".

Or describe what you see. It *should* be one label with one text box. If you see the whole sheet of labels, that is your problem.

This is my screen capture of my label project. You need this same custom template: 3.5" wide, 4.0" tall, and 0.5" veritical and horizontal gaps.

The tent card doesn't come up like that in the program. The whole page comes up. Not just one card. If you only fill out one card that is all that will print on each page.

I selected 3 names from my Address Book and printed to PDF so I could post a screen capture of this mail merge.

To do a proper mail merge, you must create a custom label project with ONE card.

The tent card is Avery Template 5302. Try it so you can see how it looks on the screen.

Why does the program have a Avery tent card template if you can't use it???

I have seen that Avery template. It's fine for non-mail merge projects and especially for designing four completely different labels i.e. different backgrounds, clipart, etc.

You have to know when to use "full sheet" templates and when to use "auto-replicate" templates. Mail merging requires "auto-replicate". Are you familiar with doing mail merging onto address labels? If yes, then you know you would never use a full sheet template. You design ONE label. The program prints up to 30 labels per sheet.

I have no idea how to do a label to use with the tent cards. I have another Print Master program 8.1. and couldn't do it in that and that is why I bought this program. I don't know what to do now.

I do professional desktop publishing and can assure you that all desktop publishing programs, even Adobe and Microsoft (which cost 4x more) require a label project just like the custom one I describe, for mail merging.

Start a project from scratch. Use these parameters.

You are welcome.

Here is my example of when you would want to put two mail merge boxes on the project. This tent card would have the person's name on both sides so that everyone sitting at the table can read the name whether they are sitting beside or across from that person.
