Yes. AFTER you "publish" the project in order to create the HTML file, open the index.html file and add the necessary code. The easiest way is to "swap out" the midi filename with your mp3 filename. Then replace the midi file in your web folder with your mp3 file.
This tweaking of your html will not be saved in your web project. If you make any changes to your web project, you will have to re-tweak the html again.

I think the program has a problem adding large sound files. How big is the wav file that you want to add?

The code for background sound is "EMBED SRC". Nowadays, browsers block that kind of content unless you tell your browser to unblock it. Allow your browser to unblock it and you will hear the background sound.
