Minimizing the game

I have tried everything to be able to minimize the Hoyle screen to a window. I did the Alt + Ctrl but it did not work. Can anyone shed some light on this for me, please? I am very frustrated. But I sure do love Spite & Malice!

The choice between full screen and a window only works if you are running at a minimum of 1024x768 resolution. Below that resolution, the software runs in full screen only.
