JPLoomis -> Saving Projects as a PDF File Shifts Layout (11/29/2007 1:36:55 PM)

"Save As A PDF File" is an option I have in my file menu. I have used it many times with no problem, especially when converting my annual holiday newsletter to PDF format for the printer who reproduces it for me. This year its driving me nuts. When I try to save my .nws file as a .pdf file, the font sizes get changed and the text shifts to different locations in the newsletter. Embedded pictures do not move. What's up?

Jim Loomis

P.S. I'm using the Standard Version of Print Shop 21.

Hi Jim,

In some instances, the PDF Converter printer driver interprets information differently than does the default printer driver. What that means is that if you do not select the PDF Converter in File | Printing | Printer Setup BEFORE you design the project, there's a very good chance that the project will be reformatted when you select the PDF Converter in SAVE AS PDF.

And, if you ever want to print a project to a printer other than the default printer, it is also a good idea to go to File | Printing | Printer Setup BEFORE you design the project and select the printer that you plan to use to print the project. That is because making ANY Printer Setup changes AFTER the project is designed can cause the project to be reformatted.
