Hi adamsr2, When I checked the HP web site, I discovered that there is only one available Vista printer driver for your HP Deskjet 970Cse. And, on that HP web site, where it provides instructions for installing the only available Vista printer driver, it says - at the very bottom of the page - that "You might find that some of the advanced features are no longer available when using this basic driver. You can upgrade to an HP product that is fully compatible with Windows Vista if the advanced features are necessary." So, the HP Deskjet 970Cse printer is not fully compatible with Windows Vista. And, when you match that with the fact that neither Print Shop 21 nor Print Shop 22 are fully compatible with Windows Vista, either, that's pretty much a 'Double Whammy'. Of course, that doesn't explain why everything worked well for you for a year and the problem started only 3 days before you posted here (possibly the result of some automatic update or software install). But, I've made an interesting discovery on my Vista laptop - and with Print Shop 22 - which also points to Vista. When I finally got around to installing a printer on my new Vista laptop, I installed a Canon Inkjet i475D - which also has only one available Vista printer driver. And, my Canon printer is also squaring the number of requested copies. So, bottom line, I think, is that the quickest fix would probably be to switch to a printer that is fully compatible with WinVista. And, you've already proven that attaching your Vista laptop to a different printer will solve the problem. Cheapest fix would probably be to put only the number of sheets of paper that you actually want to print into the printer at one time. Then, just cancel the print when the message appears about the paper not being loaded correctly.
