slroberts -> File, Go To, Option buttons aren't there (9/12/2008 6:09:05 AM)

My game was purchased as part of "EliteSuite 2008" by PC Treasures when I got a new system. At first, no problems. Now the File, Go To, Options, etc. buttons don't display. But Hoyle Bucks does. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it opens the same as if I hadn't done it. Hoyle Bucks, custom face, prefered players still intact after reinstall. The patches shown in the forum don't seem to apply to how I got the game. Help please!

Hi slroberts,

Since the program worked fine in the past, but then did not, that would have to mean that something that changed on your computer caused the problem to occur. So, the first thing you need to do is to try to remember what was changed on the computer about the same time the problem started.

If you don't remember what was changed on the computer, you might want to check these options.

1. Make sure the screen resolution is set to AT LEAST 800x600 @ 16 bit color, because that is the Minimum Required screen resolution for Hoyle Card Games 2008. And, make sure that your screen resolution is NOT set higher than 1024 X 768.

2. Make sure that your computer meets the Minimum System Requirements for Hoyle Card Games 2008

Windows® 2000 SP4/XP (Home & Pro) SP2/Vista™¹
Pentium® 266 MHz processor or faster (800 MHz processor for Vista)
16 MB RAM (64 MB for Windows XP, 512 MB RAM for Vista)
1 GB Hard Disk Space
DVD-ROM drive
800x600 @ 16 bit color

Macintosh® - Not compatible with the download version
OS X 10.4.10
G3, G4, G5 or Intel Core Duo processor
600 MHz or higher
256 MB RAM
DVD-ROM drive
32MB VRAM (ATI Rage cards not supported)
1 GB hard drive space

3. Click on this link

Updating Video Card Driver: 2000/XP/Vista/7/Mac OS X 10.4.0 and later

then follow the directions in that FAQ for upgrading your video card driver. If you find that you are already using the most current video card driver for your Operating System, uninstall and reinstall that driver - on the off chance that the driver has somehow become corrupt.
