DEJenc3 -> RE: global changes of event year (12/14/2008 5:47:11 AM)

Hello. Unfortunately, you can't make a global change to the events. You'll have to change each one individually. However, the good side is that you can convert each to a recurring event that you won't have to change in the future. Open an event and look at the Properties. Click the box that says Advanced Repeat Rule. In the Repeats window that opens, check the box for "Every" and choose"Year(s)Days." Now change the date in the box labeled "Repeat Until" giving a year far in the future, such as 2030. While you're there, you can put the birthdate in the Start Date (if you'd like CC to calculate the number of the birthday). Click OK. When you're back at the Modify Event Properties window, you have the option of calculating the birthday with a Function. Go to the event Description, add a space after the person's name, and click the Functions button. Find the function "&birthday" and click Paste Function, which will add it to the event. If you have the person's birth date entered as the start date for the repeating action, when you view the calendar it will show the birthday number, e.g., Bob's 4th birthday. Click OK to save the event. Browse years ahead in your calendar to be sure the birthday is showing up. Good luck.
