I am new to Print Shop and have successfully imported a word document and a picture but cannot get the text to wrap around he picture. Te text wrap button is grayed out and the picture is either overlayed or under the text. Cannot find a real person to talk to about this.

Hi marks,

This is what the Print Shop Help file says about text wrapping:

1. On the Design Desk, select the text box that is positioned below a graphic object.

Note: If design elements are layered so that you can’t click the text box to select it, use Tab. For more information, see Selecting Objects.

2. Choose Text Wrap from the Arrange menu.

Since your Text Wrap option is greyed out, that would have to mean that you have not selected the text box. So, click on the text box to select it.

3. Select the appropriate option from the Text Wrap area.

4. Select the appropriate option from the Options area.

A preview of your selection displays in the dialog box.

5. Click OK.

The text wraps around the graphic according to your choices.

If the text does not wrap around the graphic, that would have to mean that the text box is layered above the graphic. In order for the text to wrap properly, it is necessary for the text box to be layered below the graphic. To do so, you would select 'Arrange' in the menubar, then select 'Layer' and 'Send to Back' in the menu that drops down.

The text wrap feature in the Arrange menu does not apply to imported word docs. It only applies to text boxes inserted from the Text Tool menu.

The procedure to enable text wrap is to:

  • Open the word doc
  • Select and copy the contents within the word doc
  • Insert a text box into your PrintShop project
  • Double-click inside the text box and paste the word contents

Now you can apply text wrap to this text box.
