chansen -> Backgrounds in PM 7 labels won't import into PM 18 (11/12/2009 5:31:27 PM)

I have some labels designed in PM7 with a background that was included in the disks. When I imported them to PM 18 the background doesn't come. I can find the background in 18 but I have to connect to the web. Is there a way to use my old labels and background in PM 18?

So you did successfully open the PM7 label project with PM18? Then your solution is simply to delete the background and then add a new background - the one you found in PM18 that looks like your old background.

Yes. No problem inporting the label except for the background. I can delete the background and add the "new" one but I have several varations of this label and I was looking for a easy way to just import it and have it come up right.

I just don't understand why either program doesn't save the background to label I have created. It just keeps a link.

That's correct - backgrounds are not added to a project as a new copy, so they aren't a part of the project when you import it into a different program. You will notice that you can't click on the background and select it to copy it or move it or resize it.

If you had added an image (from the art gallery) to your label project and used that image as a background, then that would be a different story.
