Brandy redux -> Error: Calendar Creator 12 has encountered a problem and needs to close (8/21/2010 11:15:28 AM)

For most software applications, when the "[name of software application] has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." error message occurs, that normally means that the installation of the software application which is named in the error message is corrupt. And, in that case, the recommended solution is to perform a thorough uninstall, a computer cleanup, then a 'clean' reinstall, as is described in Steps A thru C below:

A. Click on this link

Uninstalling Software: Thoroughly & Safely

then follow the directions in that FAQ.

To make sure that all remnants of the program have been removed, it is VERY important to follow ALL directions in that FAQ for searching the hard drive. It is also VERY important to keep in mind that the registry should NOT be edited manually to remove remnants of the program. Instead, the registry should be cleaned ONLY by performing Step #4 in the "Computer Cleanup on WinXP & WinVista" FAQ recommended below.

B. Click on this link

Computer Cleanup on WinXP, WinVista & Win7

then follow the directions in that FAQ.

To make sure that all problems have been found, it is VERY important to perform ALL 7 steps. It is also very important to NOT perform any procedures that are not recommended in this FAQ.

C. Click on this link

'Clean' Install on Win98/Me/XP/2000/Vista/Win7

then follow the directions in that FAQ

If that error message occurs while attempting to import a *.csv into an existing *.bcc calendar file - which already contains events and formatting - that is nothing more than a limitation of the Calendar Creator software.

When that happens, the best course of action is to open a new basic calendar file, import the *.csv file into that new basic calendar file, save that new basic calendar file in the standard *.bcc format, then import the events from that *.bcc file into the calendar file which was originally being used to import the *.csv file.
