craftylady -> Labels-Different Graphics/Thanks (9/14/2010 9:26:57 AM)

Hi,

I have Print Shop 23.1. I want to create labels. I want to have the same name but a different graphic on each label. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Gwen

Hi Gwen,

If you are using Print Shop 23 Pro Publisher Deluxe, you could select a Label Sheet project, which would allow you to view and design all labels on the sheet.

However, if you are using Print Shop 23 Deluxe, which does not offer any Label Sheet projects, you will not be able to use a standard Label project - because only one label can be designed. And, as you might already be aware, with Label projects, the graphic must always be the same, but the name can be different when a mail merge is performed. I am not aware of any available method for performing a mail merge with a graphic image.

If you have a scanner, the quickest solution to your problem might be to do this:

1. Draw a line outside the edge each of the labels on the label paper.

2. Scan that label paper.

3. Save the scanned image as a JPG.

4. Open a Blank Pages project in Print Shop.

5. Insert the scanned image.

6. Position the scanned image to stretch from edge to edge of the Blank Pages project,

7. Design your labels.

8. Delete the scanned image.

9. Print.

By creating a background template over your workspace, you can see where you want to position all your different graphics. For example, here is the screenshot image of the print preview of Avery 8160 labels (as an alternative to scanning).

You insert this image into a new Blank Page project and size it to exactly fit the page. Put your graphics in the "rectangles". Delete the screenshot image before you print.

You can make a custom screenshot of the print preview of any of the label projects. Or tell me which Avery label stock you are using and I will make the screenshot image for you.

Of course, if you do have label sheet projects, the program already shows you where to put your graphics.[:)]

You can use the label project to print sheets of labels with that one name. Re-insert the label sheets when you are ready to print all the graphics on them. This will save you the trouble of having to copy/paste/position a text box into every spot where a label goes.

Thanks so much. I have the Deluxe version. Wished I had the other version. I have to do a lot of these labels.
I will try the other suggestion you all had. I have Avery 5160.
Sorry it took long to respond. It was an error and I couldn't back into the forum.

Again, thanks and it is much appreciated.

Here is a graphic of the Avery 5160 label sheet that you can save and use for your project.

Depending on what you mean by "a lot", perhaps it would be easier to do a whole sheet with graphic A, then do another whole sheet with graphic B, and so on. Stick with just the label project.

Just realized that although your version doesn't have the label sheet project, your version can open a label sheet project made in the Pro version. Click my email icon and send me a message so that I can email you a label sheet project.
