C.W. -> using guides (11/19/2010 5:58:38 PM)

I apologize if this issue has already been addressed. But I couldn't find anything about my issue when I went to Search.

Anyway, I'm making a poster project by combining many small pictures to make one large picture. I have made all the small pictures the same size. I want all the pictures to touch each other so there are no gaps between them. I added horizontal and vertical guides in order to line up each picture where I want it. Also, I'm not using Snap to Rulers or Snap to Guides.

Now, here's my problem--when I move the pictures so that the edges sit on the guides (guides turn red), they end up with a gap between them. If this is what is supposed to happen, that's fine and I'll accept it. However, I would still like to know if there is an easy way to line up the pictures AND have no gaps between them.

Thank you.

Chris

Hi Chris,

If I were you, this is what I would do:

1. If any picture has a white border around the edges, crop off the white border - because there will always be what appears to be a gap if there is a white border.

2. Select 'Arrange' in the menubar, then make sure that there is a check mark next to 'Snap to Guides' in the menu that drops down.

3. Drag the pictures to the Guides, where they should snap to the Guides without any gaps.
