Brandy redux -> PM 2012: Using Special Characters & Accents (10/3/2011 8:36:27 PM)
|
The most important point to keep in mind about Broderbund programs is that they are designed to be used only in English. And, the English language does not use any Special Characters or Accents. So, Broderbund programs are not designed for the use of Special Characters or Accents. On Windows computers, many people use the Character Map to add special characters and accents. The Character Map can be accessed by doing this: 1. Click on 'Start' 2. Click on 'All Programs' 3. Click on 'Accessories' 4. Click on 'System Tools' 5. Click on 'Character Map' However, I prefer to use Alt codes to enter special characters. With Alt Codes, you hold down the ALT key while pressing 4 numbers on the 10-key pad. Click on the link below http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html to view a list of Windows ALT Codes. If you are using a Mac, please note the "View Macintosh Accent Codes" link on the web site referenced above. And, the "Windows Character Map" link on that same web site also provides information about using the Windows Character Map.
