Windows 7 is not listed on the box under system requirements, so it may not run as intended. Additionally if your system has integrated Intel Graphics, the game will not run for sure due to the fact that the graphics hardware lacks certain features to properly start the game. However, I've tested Hoyle Mahjong Games on Windows 7 64 Bit using an ATI Radeon HD 6310 graphics card and it worked without a problem. So some computers are hit and miss.

And if all else fails, there is a support website that is included in the pamphlet that came with your game which can direct you to the right place for more information.

Additionally on certain computers , you may want to try this trick.

Hi Clem49,

On my 64-bit Windows 7, using an ATI Mobility Radeo HD 4670 video card, I can successfully install & start Hoyle Mahjongg. However, after I click on 'Play' then start moving the mouse cursor around, the tiles flicker as the mouse cursor passes over them. And, after I make my first play, I receive the "Mega Mahjongg has stopped working" error message; and, my only options are to select either 'Check online for a solution' or 'Close the program'.

Unfortunately, for me, the workaround that is recommended in the Technical Note which TMLFAN4LIFE referenced doesn't work for me.

FYI: Even though that 'Unable to run - 3D error' Technical Note recommends working around the problem by doing this:

Click on START/RUN and type C:\Program Files\Mega Mahjongg\MahJong_nodx.exe and press ENTER to run the game without Direct X functions.

it is very important to keep in mind that for a 64-bit Operating System, you must type this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mega Mahjongg\MahJong_nodx.exe

A couple more thoughts Clem49,

The first thing that must be always be kept in mind about installing any software application is that all background programs should be disabled before inserting the install disc into the drive. So, the 'clean' install is recommended for all software installations on all Windows computers.

Please click on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=24104

to view the recommended procedure for a 'clean' install.

However, before you attempt to reinstall Hoyle Mahjong, it might be a very good idea to:

1. Click on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=24103

then follow the directions in that FAQ for performing a computer cleanup.

2. Click on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=27150

then follow the directions in that FAQ for updating your video card driver.

If none of these recommendations help to solve your problem, your best bet would be to go to the Technical Note that TMLFAN4LIFE referenced above

http://support.encore.com/technicalsupport/kb.aspx?kb_id=497&product_id=2261

click on the 'Online Support Request' link, then submit a ticket to Technical Support.
