when you have the birthdays complete in one year how do you copy them to the next year

Normally you would have no reason to copy a birthday to another year. Birthdays can be managed by an Advance Repeat Rule.

See the attached screen shot of a birthday event example: "Jim's &birthday"

Note that the "&" in the text is a formula, and expands the text in the calendar to include a number indicating the person's age, as you will see when you create an event and view it on the calendar.

The Start Date is the person's date of birth, entered to calculate the age in the formula.

If you don't want to have the person's age show on the calendar, omit the "&".

Thanks, David! I did not know about the "&" calculating the person's age. Cool.

To Lewis - if you don't know the year the person was born, you can just ask the program to repeat the description every year as in this screen capture:
