OneGreenEye -> unable to change color of graphics (11/12/2013 3:52:19 PM)

I am unable to accurately change the color of graphics like I should. I had a red shield that I wanted to be dark blue. I got pink instead. No matter what color I tried, I didn't get even close to what I wanted. I tried a burgundy shield; bright blue made it purple. Is this fixable? I have been able to change other graphics, so I don't know if this was an isolated incident. I have Print Shop Deluxe 23.1 and Windows 7. Thanks.

What kind of graphic are you editing? Raster, vector clipart or a shape from the drawing tools?

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm just using the graphics that came with PrintShop 23.1.

Let's get some obvious things out of the way. When you run other applications on your computer do the colors appear the way they are supposed to? Sorry if I'm asking I just want to be sure that maybe a video driver on your computer or perhaps a setting on the monitor is allowing the proper color display to show on your screen. Outdated drivers could possibly have this effect on certain programs.

The type of graphic is important. It sounds like you are editing a JPG. In this case, this program only changes the hue of the graphic. Selecting blue does this: Black becomes blue, red becomes magenta.

To select the red and make it blue, you need to use a program such as PhotoShop Elements. MS Paint works if the red is one tone and not many shades of red.

You can try editing it in the Photo Workshop part of this program. In the Photo Effects tab, choose Colorization... Blue. This converts the entire graphic to monotone blue.

Thank you, but that seems like a lot of extra work for a birthday card. I've been using Print Shop for years (20 appx) and this was the first time I had this experience. It's not very often that I try to change a color.

Please post your question in the Print Shop 3.5 forum here

Click the NEW POST button to start a thread. None of the advice for Print Shop 23.1 and older apply to version 3.5 so it's best to get relevant advice from the correct forum.
