I have the Hoyle Board and Puzzle Games 2009 and the maximum pool is listed in the game folder on my "C:" drive but when I turn the game on it's not listed in the games! When I click on the application file for "pool" in the game folder it says I have to open it from within the game. How do I find it to play it?!?!?!?!? I used to have an older version of the board games and played it ALL the time!

When Encore acquired the Hoyle Gaming Series , they were only able to remove games from the menu or add them at the time. There were certain things they were not able to completely remove. Although Maximum Pool is located in the directory its not accessible by design.

So Maximum Pool is really not included with Hoyle Puzzle and Board 2009. We have a Hoyle Puzzle and Board Game Classic which has the pool game if you are interested and also Hoyle Table Games 2004 if you are interested in the pool game as well.

Now, they have it completely removed from the directory as I am assuming it's a different programming altogether.

There will be no patches to add the functionality you discovered in this game.

Thanks for the info. I am wondering if the games you mentioned will run on Windows 8?

Yes and No. Some elements of the game work while other elements don't work at all according to my tests.

If you do decide to try your luck installing it on Windows 8 you do so at your own risk. We can't help you on how to install it on an operating system that's not listed here. but general instructions for installing software on Windows 8 can be seen here in a post I made to help people install Windows 8 titles.
