Iventure01 -> How to save resize pictures or images? (2/25/2014 12:37:23 PM)

Greetings Everyone and Howdy;

I am new this forum and this is my first post. I just purchase TPS 3.5 Professional and watch the videos; however, one of the main answers I'm looking for the videos does not seem to clarify it.

I would like to upload pictures or images to My Photos in TPS and resize them to the width and heights needed and likewise I would like to create also clip arts images and shapes from TPS Gallery. After these projects are resize - or created - How do I save the pic or images to my PC without having the white canvas background? I would like to be able to save them without the background to use on the website or offline projects. Your advice on this matter is truly welcome. Thank you in advance and have a great day.

Kind Regards,

See this thread regarding creating PNG files with transparent background.

@Ellengard, Thanks for your response - I will try one of your options! My only question would be this... Why should someone buy a product to do the work they required and in return have to go to another source that is basically free?

I hope they could include this feature in their next updates. In my quest to learn graphic designs a while back, The Print Shop was the first program I used and even though I've not use it since TPS 22, I am still drawn to the program that was the reason I purchase this new version. Thanks once again.

Kind Regards,

Hello, Iventure01,

Print Shop is not a graphics design program. It is a desktop publishing program that happens to have a few simple graphics editing tools.

Some well-known graphics design programs are Photo Shop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Paint Shop Pro. There are good open-source graphic design programs, too. However, these are not desktop publishers. They wouldn't do mail merging with an address book, for example.

I don't know. What was your reason?[;)]

TPS 22, 23 and 23.1 can't create PNG files with any transparency, so at least we can do it in 3.5, although it really is more of a byproduct of the Save As HTML feature. There is no save as PNG option, just JPG and PDF.

:) Sorry that was my error - I meant Desktop Publishing. Thanks once again and I'm working on some of the option you mention herein. I'm still keeping TPS it might just take a little time to get used to.

I use a lot of different programs for working with graphics. Each has its own unique tools or easier-to-use tools. I am not convinced that there exists "one program does-it-all for under $100".

Broderbund/Encore sells another desktop publishing program:

I think PagePlus is as good as the more expensive Microsoft Publisher.

I agree. Thanks for the links - With PagePlus it seems like there are some features there that I could use.

Like it - wish I could get a discount coupon from Broderbund.

Kind Regards
