Just purchased Print Shop 23.1. I had previous Print Shop and my address book seemed to
transfer over after installation I did find it. BUT when I tried to print from my addresses for
labels the merge mail icon would not work, it was just grey. Any help would be appreciated

Let's make sure your address book can be opened and edited in Print Shop (otherwise no mail merge possible). Add a new contact and save:
Tools> Edit Address Book...
Did it work?

Thanks for your quick response -- that doesn't do the trick. I added a name, it took the name and I closed everything. Opened it again and went to print and pulled up the address book. The new name is fine but when it says to merge names the merge addresses is still greyed out and will not work. This is the same problem I was having with my old Print Shop, that is why I upgraded it.

Ok, so we know your Address Book is fine. The mail merge will work. Just follow the sequence in the Help file. Anything greyed out means you don't have whatever needs to be selected, selected.

If you have trouble with the Help file instructions, please post back.

TVLMSTR,

It sounds to me like you are trying to create a mail merge through Print Shop 23.1 instead of printing directly from the Ultimate Mail Manager Address Book.

If I have guessed correctly, I suspect that you might have failed to add the Address Merge Fields, which are explained in the Tech Tips forum here

Go to the tutorial for Address Book/Mail Merge. You can watch the movie or read the text. (The movie doesn't explain mail merging, so do read the text.)
