Dobjo -> PS 3.5 problems? (7/6/2015 2:13:01 PM)

I have Win 7 Pro & PS 3.5 Deluxe. After loading PS 3.5 I can only see the middle top portion of the screen. I can not change the resolution or I won't be able to see any of the text. I have low vision problems. Also the following:
I am going from PS 23 to PS3.5. Win 7 pro. 1. Where do I set/change PS
options/preferences? 2. A mailing address label project -- When I go to
PRINT it does NOT show "30 labels", it does NOT have the option "Starting
label" 3. When I want to oopen a project, it does NOT give me a small
preview?? 4. Why can't I tell PS where to find my projects to open? It should
go to that folder whenever I click OPEN, and the same with SAVE. 5. In a
text box why can I no longer change the line spacing to less than 1.0?

Hello! I can help answer your questions, a couple at a time.

Do you have a very wide screen? If so, there may be a tech solution. I will alert the forum admin who knows more about those kinds of things.

There is not a way to set preferences. Although the program remembers your last choices for text formatting when you close a project and start another, it will not remember them after you close the program.

Yes, it does. After you click Print, a print dialog box opens. Label Sheet Range appears on the right side, and there is a button, Select the Starting Position.

If you use large text display scaling, it will not work. A workaround for this would be to right click on the programs shortcut, select properties and then click the compatibility tab. Make sure you select disable display scaling on high DPI devices.

It should appear correctly without you having to switch your text size every time you launch the program.

Yes, it does. In the Project Gallery, there are thumbnails for every project you saved. Look at the top to see if you have Ready-Made Projects checked. If so, check the My Projects choice instead.

Whenever you save a project in PS3.5, its thumbnail appears in the Project Gallery and you can open it from there, no matter where you saved that project before. However, if you MOVE your project via Windows Explorer, the program won't know and you will need to browse for it.

If you need to browse for it, click Open> Open the Print Shop 3.5 Project. Find the project's location. The program will remember this location if you browse again.

Yeah, unfortunately this feature does not exist in 3.5.

I have been made aware that version 4.0 will have saved formatting for text styles.

Thanks for responding. My Dell monitor is 14.5" E x 12" H.
Not sure why PS chose to not meake and options/preferences available.

You're welcome. Glad we could help you with printing a partial sheet of labels and with finding your projects.

Dobjo -> RE: PS 3.5 problems? (7/6/2015 10:11:38 PM)

OK, All my projects are currently PS23. Tried it again: Address label -30
per page. When opened it is on letter sized paper and Landscape. There is
too much space between the 3 lines, so it only shows first and second line at
the top and bottom of the label.
Click Print, then click Print again, it opens up the print box. Has (on right)
"Page range" with 2 choices ALL and Pages which is greyed out, and # of
copies. I tried Saving as a PSPro file. There was no change when I opened it.
Also, how do I close a current open project? I don't see close on the drop
down menu, and no X in the upper right?

Dobjo -> RE: PS 3.5 problems? (7/6/2015 10:18:57 PM)

The text paragraph spacing is a feature that I use a lot. Usually change
it from lines to points to reduce space.
On the files, in PS 23 when browseing to open, when I highlight a file name
it shows a preview of the project on the right side.

ellengard -> RE: PS 3.5 problems? (7/6/2015 10:55:32 PM)

Unfortunately, not ALL version 23 projects can convert over to 3.5 and this includes Labels. You will need to start a new Label Project in 3.5. Then the Print Range feature works fine. Even though the v23 opens, but is an imperfect conversion, you can cut and paste the images into a new Label Project.

To close a project, click the X on the project's tab.

As of July 3, 2015, I can no longer access anything within my PS 3.5 Pro software except my own previously created projects. When I click to add a new clip art it gives me the error message: "An internet connection is required to access the clip art and ready-made projects". I absolutely HAVE a very good internet connection. I've tried turning off my virus scan, firewall, and have opted to have the application run as administrator... nothing is working. I'm running Windows 7 64- bit. The software was working just find up to July 3rd. Any suggestions? Hmmm... I don't think I posted this correctly...???

If you are still having trouble accessing the online features after you have performed the troubleshooting tips, you may need to submit an online ticket for our techs to look at it.
