How do you start a new address book in PrintMaster 7 Platinum? How do you do a mail merge?

Oops, sorry! That info is for a different program, The Print Shop 3.5. I noticed you posted an earlier question concerning The Print Shop 3.5, so does the above info help you? I'll try to find PrintMaster 7 information.

Open the Text menu. You will see the Address button. Click that and the address book opens. You can start adding contacts.

This is a brand new feature so I'll just learning this, too. Got my address book started. I add a text box, then click on a Field (Fields window is next to the Address button), then click the Insert button. After adding my fields and formatting them, I click the Address button to open the book and select the contacts that I want to go on my labels project. I chose one contact per item. OK. Then I print.

Can you get to this point?

I'm at this point as well, but I pick all addresses I want added and the labels won't populate.

You won't see the mail merge until you print or do a print preview.

I just learned this as well. I know Its a new feature but I've noticed some odd behavior when doing the mail merge. Have a test file that I used to play around with the importing of names. Still have to learn it. Did notice that there is actually no button to merge that you have to save your work first before you see the results you want to merge into your project.

Have to play around with this more [;)]

I am encountering this behavior as well it just says Name, Address, etc. It won't fill the names.

Jason, you have to print. The merge does not occur until you print or do a print preview.

I tried to print. IT DOESN'T MERGE. I get a full page of mail merge codes.

I follow every step. when I go to print the page comes "Rendering: Page1" and it locks up right there. it goes into an endless loop trying to render page 1, I've waited 2, 5, 12 minutes and it never goes beyond that page. I've tried the original installation, I've dumped the program and reinstalled from the CD and I still only get to that rendering box and it will not go any farther.

I couldn't get PM7 to work at all until I did this:

If you aren't running PM7 as administrator, try it and see if the program will work properly.

Are you able to send me the project you are working on? Would like to take a look at it and see what I can find. I've seen some quirks in the printing mechanism but that kind of project should not make it get stuck like that.

Oh yeah additionally, how many contacts are in your projects and how many sheets are you trying to print?
