When I put a clip art images on a label the image is out of focus. The same images on other types of projects are fine.

I am simply getting the clip art images from within the printshop application. I am using version 3.5.5.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are looking at a small label, you might be looking at 400% zoom. At such a high zoom, many images look blurry. However, I suspect it will print fine.

I am having the same problem, only when I printed, the picture was still a little blurry. Never had this problem with my old versions of Print Shop. Any suggestions? I am not as happy with this version as I have been with the past versions. I've been using Print Shop for at least 10 years now, and no problems until the Deluxe 4.0. I definitely feel like it is not as user friendly. :(

Is it a picture from the Clipart gallery or one that you imported from outside the program? What are its pixel dimensions? How big do you want this picture to print?

For example, you need a 300x300 pixel image in order to print a 1"x1" sharp image; 2400x3000 pixel to print 8"x10".

Its clip art from within Print Shop, which in the past has always been formatted to fit whatever project I am working on. I've tried editing the size in Print Shop, and so far that hasn't worked either.

Which piece of clipart are you wanting to place on your project? I can test a few things on my end.

The one I printed that was still blurry was: 'tis the season to be freezin'
Thank you!

I was looking at some of the clipart and found sometimes it appears blurry and sometimes it does not. To see what it looks like before printing, try rendering your project as a PDF using Cute PDF or render as a JPG image to see the final outcome.

Ok, so I guess it's just a "deal with it" thing sometimes. Do you know if they are working on a fix for it?

Darn, I can't find this clipart in my version 4.0. However, you can still look up the pixel dimensions. See how in this screen snip. Then tell me how large you want to print the image and I can tell you if the image has enough pixels.

For example, this clipart will print very sharp, up to 2.7 inches tall. However, if it were to be printed 4 inches tall, it would print blurry.

Sorry, my bad.. the name of the file is "Jolly Old Time The Season". its 1444 pixels by 701 pixels. I was just trying to fit it on the edge of my address label (Avery 5160) When I printed them out it still looked really blurry.

ellengard -> RE: Clip art images on labels (12/8/2016 9:09:48 PM)

From doing my own print tests, I have come to the conclusion that The Print Shop program does not print really sharp.
I hope Jason can either replicate or refute my results.

The image, "Jolly Old Time Season" is perfectly fine, as can be seen here:

From the Clipart Gallery, I saved this image to my hard drive. Then I imported this image into other programs such as WordPad and Serif PagePlus. Printing from these other programs, the image was sharp, up to approx. 5"x 2.4".

Print this very same image from any Print Shop project and the image prints fuzzy!

Interestingly, if I save my project as JPG, the JPG prints sharp when I print it from a program other than The Print Shop. So my conclusion at this time is that The Print Shop's very own print function is sub-par.

Note: I am using The Print Shop 4.0 on Win 7.

I am using 4.0 Deluxe on windows 10. But what's weird is, it doesn't happen on EVERY piece of clip art I select (although it does happen on a lot of them)....some of the art looks fine on a label, and some of what is blurry on the label is fine on an 8.5x11 project.
I guess I need to look for my old $8 version and see if it still works. What a pain, and what a waste of money.

ellengard -> RE: Clip art images on labels (12/9/2016 3:03:04 PM)

Do you have the latest printer drivers for Win 10?

marys65 -> RE: Clip art images on labels (12/11/2016 11:45:54 AM)

Not sure. I will have to check it.
