mtarrant -> Event selection (12/6/2016 4:20:38 AM)

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can help me. I am creating multiple calendars for different people. I would like certain birthdays to appear in one calendar, but not in the others, how can I get events to only appear in certain calendars? Surely there is a way to do this.

cheers

Meaghan.

Any events you are working with are in a box. I believe if you click on one of the events and click the minus sign, it removes the ones in use but not from the categories.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

Based on Jason's image, I suggest creating new categories, apply these to the birthdays accordingly, and choose to display those categories or not. That lets you keep all the birthdays in one calendar.

For example, you could have categories like these:
Birthday Family
Birthday Friends
Birthday Work

You'd have to check the ability to display a category or not, but if that's possible, this might serve your purpose.

Hi Jason,

thanks for that, unfortunately when I deleted the event from the events list, it deleted it from all calendars again, and it was not in the category either, so I had to add it in again. Do you have any other suggestions for me. Thanking you in advance.

cheers

Meaghan.

My suggestion was based on seeing the image, and my experience with Calendar Creator 12. Calendar Creator 2016 is very different, and I expected that there may be corresponding way to handle the same goal.

This may not be the best way, but it may work:
Try double clicking on a calendar object, like a Month. It will open the calendar properties. You'll see a tab for Miscellaneous. Under that, you can check and uncheck categories of events that you want to show, or not, in that object.

If it's a month object, and a birthday, you should have to change that property for only the month in which the birthday occurs. However, if you have a category you want to show or suppress for an event that repeats or continues over multiple objects (months), you'd likely have to make the change for all the objects in which the event could possibly appear.

Hi David,

Sorry for the delay in response, I am in Australia, so there is a bit of a time difference. You are a genius, your solution has worked! Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. :-)

I'm glad it worked. Thanks for letting us know, since that can help other users.
