I am using windows 10 on my new laptop with printshop 4.0

When I click print a box comes up and says it cant print to "one note"

My printer is marked as the default printer in settings and I have no issues printing anything else. So with this program I have to save it as JPeg and then print it from my picture folder. Extra steps that I don't like.

Can anyone help me out with this please??? THANKS

Can you ignore that message and select your printer from the print options?

Yes but my printer is shown as selected.

Does the cannot print to one note happen after you click print. As Ellengard suggested, you'll need to select your printer from the drop down menu in order to send it to your printer.

I have selected my HP printer on all that I can find. I checked it in the print preview just now and my HP printer is listed correctly. I have never ran into this and don't really understand why. I know where I have to tell it to go!!!! I do appreciate all your ideas because I am out of them!

One idea left. Since this print to One Note is a Microsoft thing, maybe that is related to Windows updates making changes to your computer. Perhaps installing the latest Win 10 printer drivers for your model will do the trick.

Does the image I am attaching look familiar? It's possible you may have printers that were once connected and are not in use anymore. I've made it a habit to only have printers I use listed in the printers section and remove the ones I don't want from that section.

That way, it always goes to my default printer. I'm not sure what One Note has to do with anything except for being a built in app with Windows 10. You can remove the One Note app which also removes that One Note printer as well.

New laptop, no other printers and my printer is checked as default.

I do not use Microsoft office so I just deleted the program. Wish me luck!!!

So I deleted my Microsoft office and one note. Restarted my laptop. Still the same!!!! Only difference is that I saw the reply said "one Note 2013".

Another thing I noticed also is when I close out my print program it really does not close out. I have to go to the right task bar, find the "P" and right click and close it out there.

Have I told you I do not like Windows 10?

I just want to be clear on something. So when you go to Print in the program, if you choose your printer from the drop down box, it prints, correct?

mine does not look like yours. BUT I DID IT!!!!!

OK, I looked at my printers. My HP was checked as default but then I just looked down and there was ONE NOT 2013 listed. Where it came from I don't know and it was not checked, but I deleted it. It worked!!!!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful help. Usually this is easy to use but I was having a fit with this one!!!

Great news! I'll have to remember that One Note puts itself into the printers and needs to be not just unchecked, but deleted. Thanks for your solution!
