Adding events with a start time

How do you add multiple events with different starting times so they are in chronological order. Sometimes it works and then when I go to add another event that is before the one I just added it will but it under the event. ex. 1 pm mtg 2 pm dr apt 12:30 pm Lunch at Apple Bees
