I have created a plain calendar, and I have been trying to add two events (as a test) to this calendar. I have tried everything I can think of but cannot move the events to the calendar. Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I had an old version of this product which worked very well, but when we upgraded to Windows 10, had to go to the current version. This version is not very user friendly and I find the video tutorials lacking and the user guide not so good either.

I don't have an answer for your question regarding Calendar Creator version 1. However, since you are a past user of the program, I strongly urge you to get the new release, Calendar Creator 12.2, which is a continuation of the older version, the last of which was 12.1. Version 12.2 will run on Windows 10, and operationally it is indistinguishable from 12.1. I think you'll be very happy that you did this. Check with Customer Service for details on the new version.
