FixitMAD -> CC 12.2 ? Is this a true update? (12/20/2018 9:15:11 AM)

Hello,

I just read from lindarobin under the CC 2016 forum that Calendar Creator 12.2 has been released! Is this truly an update of the Riverdeep program? I was looking for more info but it appears I cannot ask a question under that forum.

I was looking for screenshots and more info on this! If so, I will purchase right-away.

I am excited to hear that Encore may have a True update at last!!!!! :-)

You have it exactly right. CC12.2 is a direct update of Calendar Creator 12.1. I urge you to get it right away. You won't be disappointed if you liked CC12.1. (And you won't need screenshots, since it looks identical to 12.1.)

Thanks for confirming David. I just ordered it with physical disc since I still prefer this method.

Does that mean that CC 12.2 will accept my events from Calendar Creator Deluxe v12.1? My hard drive died and I need to reinstall an updated program

Yes, CC 12.2 is a true update. You'll be able to open and edit your projects created in Calendar Creator 12.1.

I have CC 12.2 and so does my boss. It was downloaded from a disk. My calendar creator won't update when he updates his.

Calendar Creator is a stand-alone application, not designed for networking or sharing. How are you using it?

David is spot on. Calendar Creator 12.2 is not designed to be updated as it is already as it can be.

While we don't support networking, this program should work better under Windows 10 and other conditions over the previous 12.1 which is not designed for today's applications.

If you are noticing anything out of the ordinary, please send an email to support@encore.com

You can private message me with your email address and I'll respond from my work email and send this to our developers.

We used to have a very old Calendar Creator and had NO NONE NADA! problems with it. Somehow the most current copy disappeared from our nas (network) and we weren't able to use it anymore. So we bought 12.2 and downloaded it on both machines. The program is on the nas (network).
One of the links that DEJenc3 (forum moderator) sent me brought me to a page which states this information:

"Calendar Creatorâ„¢ 12 is designed as a stand-alone application. However, calendar files can be shared on a network. To share calendar files over a network among multiple users, each user must have a copy of Calendar Creatorâ„¢ 12 installed on the local workstation."

Has there be a change to version 12.2 that makes it unable to share calendar files on a network?

Thank you.

I'm not too knowledgeable with the workings of forums so I hope I did this right.
Thank you.
Christine

There are PROBABLY no changes in Calendar Creator 12.2 that would change how the program would behave in a networked environment, which isn't to say that there aren't changes in Windows that would affect it. Since you're asking about a use for which the program in not designed, you'd have to try it. There would certainly be the risk of corrupting the calendar files that are accessed and saved by more than one user, but if you accept that risk, it might work if you have a way to prevent more than one user at a time from opening a file. This is beyond my experience and knowledge.
