Thank you for your reply, ellengard.

Yes, I did have success with #2 method for printing #10 envelopes. A little bit more to do, but it works! The best part is being able to use the ready-made templates to create what I want. It's unfortunate that it isn't a completely self-contained activity within PM, but oh well....

Thank you very much!

The image in that post was trying to show what happened when I tried two different ways to print the #10 envelope. Each 3 cells represents left, middle, right part of page. The rightmost 3 were trying to show that it printed the envelope DIRECTIONALLY correct (vertically), BUT it put it in the middle cell of the page, rather than on the rightmost cell (where the envelope would be).

I am thinking that these large pictures were caused by my selecting "Embed..." instead of "Send email notification..." before sending. Again, my apologies for that...

Thank you for your reply, ellengard. Referencing http://forums.encoreusa.com/fb.asp?m=55274

I just now noticed that in your second graphic, the checkbox for "Choose paper source by PDF page size is unchecked. On the right, it shows your desired envelope size.

When I tried your instructions, I found that if I left that checkbox empty, it would default to 8x11... However, if I checked it, then it would put in the correct envelope dimensions. Regardless, it didn't work in either scenario, but I thought I'd mention it in case it was important to figuring this issue out.

I'm glad we have this workaround option!

It's what I have to do because my old printer doesn't have newer drivers to make it work with PrintMaster 2020. So I export the JPG and print the JPG from a different program.

3) Opened newly-created file and looked at Properties, which showed the paper size as 5.75 x 4.3875

4) Attempted to print the file. The Adobe Print function showed the output size as 6.38 x 4.49 (see atttached JPEG), which is obviously not the desired size.

5) In actually printing out the file, it DID put it in the lower right corner of the 8x11 test sheet I used... however, the individual elements as stated above were not in their right places. The Return Address was an inch too far down, the Send To Address was about an inch too far to the left, and the clip art was about an inch too far up from the bottom.
...

There is your problem: you didn't change the paper stock size in the HP printer settings to match the size of the PDF document (which comes from the PM project size). Also, putting letter size paper in the HP printer is probably messing things up since that does not match the PDF document size.

HP paper size setting = the physical paper size inserted = the PDF document size. If all three don't match, the print will be misaligned.

You need to select the right paper size from your HP printer's list. This is a partial list from what my printer can do.

Thank you for your reply, ellengard.

The problem is that my printer does not have a matching entry to fit the PDF size... and nothing comes remotely close either. See attached JPEG - showing all available HP 2540 media type choices.

BTW, I have tried choices that were close to that size, and manipulated the location(s) of the text entry, but to no avail.

Therefore, (and according to your statement):

"HP paper size setting = the physical paper size inserted = the PDF document size. If all three don't match, the print will be misaligned"

... it is virtually impossible to find a solution to solve this problem, since one cannot recognize the other's settings and adjust accordingly.

Out of curiosity, do you know what size envelope is used when making quarter-fold cards out of 8.5 x 11 letter paper (now) with PM19 or PM20? The A2 envelopes were the kind that previous versions of PM made use of.

In any case, thanks again for your assistance!

Does your printer have a custom size paper option? It doesn't have to be an envelope option, just a paper option.

You can always use #10 envelopes. Since they are a "standard" size, they are less expensive than any of the specialty envelopes. Printers handle #10 envelopes very well. Go ahead and purchase any envelope size listed by your printer, that is wider than 5.5" and taller than 4.25".

An idea: Make a Z-fold card. It's single-side printing on letter size paper, that when folded into thirds, fits perfectly in a #10 envelope.

I have a workaround that I used many years ago*, but there is a risk of paper jam. (a setting for heavy paper may prevent paper jammimg) I taped my envelope to 8.5x11 paper. I drew a rectangle on the 8.5x11 project to match where my physical envelope was taped. Design within the rectangle, then remove the rectangle when you are ready to print.

*printer was so old that it was not 100% compatible with the OS. Single-sided printing on 8.5x11 paper was the only thing that printed perfectly aligned.

The paper with taped on envelope comes out of my printer looking like this:
