The Christian Holidays for are not showing correctly in 2021. The 2020 Christian Holidays are repeating in 2021. Please advise how to correct the Christian Holidays. Thank you.

Could you tell us what version of Calendar Creator you are using? In Calendar Creator 12.2, when I import the Christian holidays I see that they go up to 2025.

For instance, on my 2021 calendar the following Christian Holidays are appearing:

Ash Wednesday, 02/17 and 02/26
Palm Sunday, 03/28 and 04/05
Easter, 04/04 and 04/12

It is showing the 2020 dates for the Christian Holidays as well as the 2021 dates.

Is there a way to "turn off" the Christian Holidays and if so, will they come off the calendar and then possibly turning the feature back on so that they are corrected?

That's quite strange, and I can't reproduce the error. When I create a new blank calendar and import the Christian holidays, they don't duplicate in the way you describe.

My suggestion would be to use the Event List view and delete all the five holidays (that I see) that don't occur on the same date (the way Christmas does). Then check the calendar date for Easter, and you should not see it. Then import the Christian holidays file provided by Calendar Creator, and it should be okay.

Please let us know how this goes.

From the file menu choose import, events. You'll see all the choices, and the Christian holidays is not far from the top. Just click on it and it will import the holidays.

Holidays and other events do end up duplicated when they have been imported from two sources. For example, I imported Canadian holidays and U.S. holidays. The result was that holidays that both countries shared, end up on the calendar, once for Canada, and again for the U.S.

If you manually add holidays, they also show up with any imported holidays. Holidays such as Easter do not happen on the same date every year, so adding this holiday manually, the repeat rules aren't as simple, like Christmas which is always the 25th.

Thanks, Linda. That duplication is correct and it's happened to me. What I still don't understand is the examples that joannkirby gave that were apparently wrong dates. However, perhaps they're not wrong for different branches of Christianity, for example Greek or Russian Orthodox. Even so, I don't see those as calendars offered by Calendar Creator. However it occurred, I'm glad that it worked out for joannkirby.

The dates weren't "wrong". The repeat rule was wrong. For example, Easter in 2020 occurred on April 12. I believe joannkirby is saying that Easter shows up in 2021 on April 12 again. That would indicate that the repeat rule is incorrectly stored as "repeat annually on the same day".

She also says Easter is showing up in 2021 as April 4 which is the correct date. This suggests to me that there are two events in her calendar called Easter, one with an incorrect repeat rule.

Good point about the repeat rule. At least the rule looks correct (repeat once) in the newly-imported events.
