Then, when the Dimension Properties window opens, click on the Font button. And, as to losing the cross hatching on the interior, that cross hatching (you do mean the diagonal lines, correct?) apparently appears only on the first floor. So, when you see the untidy fraction while drawing a dimension, drag the mouse up or down (if your line is horizontal) or left or right (if your line is vertical) until that untidy fraction disappears. Before I can answer your question about keying in the exact length of walls, I'll have to know exactly where you saw that information in the Help file.
