Hi TSmeal, If I understand your last post correctly, the Record and Playback did work at one time after the hard drive was replaced. If that is truly the case, that problem is most likely being caused by a recent change which was made to your your computer. The problem with changes on the computer is that it is not always possible to pinpoint what changes were made to the computer. However, the most important point to keep in mind is that if a software application works once, it should work again. And, it if stops working, the most likely explanation is that something has been added to the computer which makes it impossible for the program to work. And, a Windows Update is often the culprit - because many older programs will work quite well on the old version of an Operating System, but will not work after a Service Pack is installed. And, there is another factor involved with your problem. In your first message, you mentioned that the problem was related to Reader Rabbit's Reading Ages 4-6. However, the most recent versions of Reader Rabbit Reading Learning System state that the program is designed for Ages 4.7. And, the most recent versions of Reader Rabbit Reading Learning System include 3 separate disks - I Can Read with Phonics, High Flying Act and The Great Alphabet Race. And, since I do not currently have any hands-on experience with Reader Rabbit, I do not have any information as to which of those disks - or all of those disks - offer the Record and Playback option. So, unfortunately, I will need more information before I can take a shot at solving your problem. In order to determine whether or not you are using the same version of Reader Rabbit Reading Learning System as am I, I will need answers to the following questions: 1. Which Operating Systems are listed in the Minimum System Requirements for your Reader Rabbit Reading Learning System? 2. What is the exact name of the disk (or disks) in which the Record and Playback option will not work? 3. Which Service Pack is installed on each of your WinXP 32-bit computers? If you don't know which Service Pack is installed, go to Control Panel, click on System, then check the System option on the General tab.
