My kids love Oregon Trail. I bought the disk and installed it on our home computer a couple of years ago. Now we've purchased the kids netbooks that don't come with a CD-ROM drive, only USB. Is there any way they can play the game on their Netbooks? The operating system is Windows-7 Starter.
Since the CD must be inserted in a CD-ROM drive every time Oregon Trail is played, there is only one way to play Oregon Trail on a netbook computer which does not have a CD-ROM drive. You would need to attach an external hard drive to the netbook. And, the external hard drive must be attached to the netbook every time Oregon Trail is played.
And, there is, I'm afraid, no way to work around this problem.
