Have PrintMaster2012, new computer with Windows 7. Old printer would print banner paper with Print Shop. There is no option to select banner paper with Windows 7. Any suggestions?

Hi hb9193,

The ability to print on continuous banner paper is controlled ONLY by the printer driver for the selected printer. However, some printers cannot print on continuous banner paper with all Operating Systems - because the drivers for the newer Operating Systems do not always offer the option of selecting continuous banner paper.

If you are not able to print on continuous banner paper with other programs on your Windows 7 computer, it is very likely that you will not be able to print on continuous banner paper with PrintMaster 2012. However, it is also possible that your printer driver is either corrupt or outdated. So, the first thing that I would recommend is for you to go to your printer manufacturer's web site to download and install the most current printer driver for both your Operating System and the version of the Operating System (32-bit or 64-bit). If you don't know which version you are using, go to 'Control Panel', select 'System', then look for something which says either '32-bit Operating System' or '64-bit Operating System'. If you are using WinXP and you don't see any mention of either 32-bit or 64-bit, that would indicate that you are using a 32-bit Operating System.

If updating your printer driver still does not allow you to print on continuous banner paper, I'm afraid you are pretty much out of luck. And, if you choose to purchase a newer printer, you will want to make sure that that printer has the capability of printing on continuous banner paper with Windows 7.

If you are able to print on continuous banner paper with other programs on your Windows 7 computer, you should be able to print on continuous banner paper with PrintMaster 2012. However, when you click on the down arrow next to the 'Paper Size' box on the PrintMaster 2012 'Print' screen, you will not always see all Paper Sizes that can be selected by your printer. So, you will need to click on the 'Properties' button on the PrintMaster 2012 'Print' screen. When the 'Properties' window opens, select the continuous banner paper option, then click on the 'OK' button to return to the 'Print' screen. Don't be surprised if the 'Paper Size' setting on the 'Print' screen does not match the 'Paper Size' setting which you selected on the 'Properties' window. Instead, just click on 'Print' to print the project.

If you do not see a Continuous Paper Size option on the 'Properties' window or if the project does not print correctly, you might want to try exporting the project to JPG, PNG or PDF then printing the project with another program.
