A few major issues in my brand new Home and Business Lawyer 2011 V4:

1. Regardless of if I say I'm single or divorced when I start the will it wants me to give spouse information.
Duh, I just said single or divorced so obviously I DON'T have a spouse.
The help screen tells me to make a statement that I don't have a spouse but gives no information where to put it or what to do with the provided spouse statement.

2. When I create my children (adult children in my case) it defaults to "who are the parents 'you only' and has 'both you and your spouse' grayed out, not selectable".

I've tried both Will-Standard and Will- Single with Adult Children.

So far the will portion of this software looks useless. Very eager for some help because I cannot make it past these first to steps that should be really simple to get to what should be more challenging later.

Maybe a work around on the form is just to click spouse and type N/A in the name box and amend the form later.

I saw the screen shot you posted, but there is no name entered in the box. If you enter a name in the box, it could be selectable then. I don't own this program so I can't be of much assistance. Just giving general things to try based on the attachment you uploaded here.

  1. Remove all details in the fields if no spouse is to be included.
  2. This is an error in the programming and has been reported it to the proper department

This is simply a questionnaire for the program to properly populate correct questions and help pre-populate answers. You can modify the documents to ensure it includes correct details. This invalid option of "Who are the parents?" will not affect any legal details of any document.

So basically the will is useless and I can just start with a blank piece of paper and type my own?
I mean yes I can delete the information about my spouse but even the help says I need something else in it's place.
The idea is to answer their questions and have them create the document for me isn't it? Not me figure it out on my own?

thanks, bob

I did not mean that the program is just a questionnaire. I meant that it starts you off with a questionnaire so that it can create a customized document for you.

I'm sorry, that's all I really know what to say about your query.
