When a half-fold greeting card is created in PrintMaster 18.1 or in any earlier version of PrintMaster, it is possible to switch from the 'Front' page, to the 'Inside' pages to the 'Back' page by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the workspace. When either the Front page or the Back page is selected, that page is displayed - by itself - on the workspace, even though the Back page and the Front page are always printed on the same side of the paper. When the Inside pages are selected, both Inside pages are both displayed on the workspace, with a dotted line down the center of the page to specify the dividing line between the Left Inside page and the Right Inside page (for a side-fold card) or the Top Inside page and the Bottom Inside page (for a top-fold card).
When a half-fold greeting card is created in PrintMaster 2.0 or 2011, there are only 2 options - to display either 1) the Outside of the card or 2) the Inside of the card. PrintMaster 2.0 & 2011 do not offer the option of designing the Front page and the Back page individually.
The Outside of the card is selected by clicking on the icon below the workspace which has a 1 in the lower left hand corner of the icon. When the Outside of the card is placed on the workspace, both the Back page and the Front page will be displayed together (very similar to the way in which the Inside pages are displayed in PrintMaster 18.1 and the earlier versions of PrintMaster). However, there will be no dotted line down the center of the page to specify the dividing line between the Back page and the Front Page.
The Inside of the card is selected by clicking on the icon below the workspace which has a 2 in the lower left hand corner of the icon. When the Inside of the card is placed on the workspace, both Inside pages will be displayed together. And, once again, there will be no dotted line down the center of the page to specify the dividing line between the Inside pages.
Since PM 2.0 & 2011 do not display a dotted line down the center of the page, it is always a good idea to turn the Ruler ON - by clicking on 'View' in the menu bar then selecting 'Rulers' in the menu that drops down - to help visualize the exact center of the page.
NOTE: #1 Since some half-fold greeting cards will be designed with only an Outside, it is sometimes necessary to add an Inside by clicking on 'Insert' in the menubar, selecting 'Add Page' in the menu that drops down, selecting the desired layout for the Inside of the card, then clicking on OK.
NOTE: #2 When adding a page for the Inside of a half-fold card, it is important to keep in mind that if any layout other than the 'Blank Page' layout is selected, the Inside of the card will contain Layout options which are intended to be used to insert photos into the Inside pages of the card. Photos can be added by double-clicking on a Layout option. And, any layout option can be removed by right-clicking on the option, then selecting 'Delete' from the menu that drops down.
