When I installed the s/w I chose the longer install option, which I though would install all of the templates locally so the program doesn't take so long retrieving new templates or images. That doesn't seem to be the case, when I start a new project from a template, it is taking a very long time to load and also when I switch in between images on the page.

What's the real difference btwn the quick install and longer one?

I really do want to like and use this s/w, but between as earlier post where I noticed all of the calendar templates are from 2011 and the performance issues, I'm not having a good experience so far.

The quick install takes a lot less time because the preview images of the templates are not installed. Neither install option puts the ready-made content on your computer. ALL ready-made content require an internet connection. After you save a project, it is on your hard drive.
