I just upgraded from CC2 to CC Deluxe v12. When creating a monthly planner and putting a picture in an event, the picture takes up most of the room in the rectangle for that day. I see that as I add more events to that day, the size of the picture is scaled (reduces in size). However, on many days, I have only the one event with a picture and as noted, the picture takes up the entire rectangle. In CC2, there was a way to reduce the size of the picture so that it was not so obtrusive. I do not see a way to do this in CC12. Is there any way to control how big the picture (in this case a WMF file) gets? Help!

I can't think of a suitable way to reduce an image's display size in an otherwise empty day cell, though what you'd like to do makes sense to me. (I don't use images in day cells in my own calendars, so I haven't faced the dilemma myself.)

My thought would be to copy the image you'd like to use, and resize the copy with an image editing program. Set the "Fit picture in area" picture property in the cell to "No change." It would take some trial and error to find a suitable image size. If you re-use pictures, as I expect you might, you'd need 2 versions of each picture: one for empty cells, and another for cells with events.

It's possible that our other users who make more use of graphics in calendars will have a better suggestion.

The "Fit picture in area" option and all other picture options are accessed by right clicking on the picture, selecting Properties in the menu that drops down, then clicking on the Picture tab on the Layout Object Properties window.

Here's an idea. Add a fake event with text the same color as the background so that the text is invisible. This extra event will auto scale down your image.
