I am having a terrible time getting a photo from my Picasa software to my project in v6 Platinum

Photos must be added from the Add Photo button. When you click it, you see your default location for photos. If it is not possible to browse to your "Picasa location", then you need to open your Picasa program and find out where your photos are actually stored on your hard drive. When you find them, put copies of the photos you want to use into a folder - call it "photos-for-PM". Store this folder in the default location mentioned earlier.

Now when you click the Add Photo button, you can go directly to "photos-for-PM".

Or if Picasa gives you the path to where the photo is stored, you can browse directly to that location once you have clicked the Add Photo button.

Do whichever is more convenient for you.
