Can you tell me if CK Scrapbook Designer has a feature similar to the Magic Wand which Photoshop Elements 3 and Digital Image Pro has? I am trying to use a layout template and put certain backgrounds/elements in different spaces on the template. Is there any way this can be done. With Photoshop Elements 3, you can chose the Magic Wand, then click on the space in the template where you want the background/element/photo and then when you paste it in, it only goes to the spaces choses with the Magic Wand. This would be a GREAT scrapbooking software if it included something like that.

HELP!!!...Karen

No, sorry, CKSD is similar to a page layout program that easily lets you add and position elements on a page. Its photo-editing tools are very few and very limited compared to Photoshop and DIP. The closest thing to the Magic Wand is the free-hand crop which doesn't even have edge feathering.

CKSD also does not support PNGs with partial transparency, making the importing of elements from digital page kits useless.

All that being said, CKSD is still a nice, easy to use program for scrappers whose primary focus is their photos and their journalling. Layouts like those in "Simple Scrapbooks" magazine are fun to do with this program.

If your style is more multi-layered, distressed, chunky and heavy with embellishments, you should be doing all your digital scrapping with any of the better photo-editors like the ones you mentioned.
