Upgraded this morning, now I can't open old files

Hello,

There was an update available, so I completed the update this morning.

However, now I cannot open files that I created before the update.

The error message appears as follows:

THIS FILE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A TPS 3.0 OR TPS 2.0 FORMATTED PROJECT FILE.

I have tons of pre-made projects and need access to them, please help!

Do you mean that your 4.0 projects that you created earlier will no longer open? Or are you referring to projects made in an earlier version such as 2.0 and 3.0?

projects created in 4.0 (same program).

Now, after the update, I cannot open them.

I also updated from 4.0 to 4.0.1. I just went through a list of my projects sorted by date so I could tell which projects were pre-update, but still 4.0. They all opened, no problem. I did have trouble with really old projects i.e. 23.1.

So perhaps your update installation is corrupted? You may need the help of tech support who can be contacted via:

The first link is for Deluxe; the next for Professional.

Kind of obvious but did you accidentally choose the option to open a PS 23.1 file rather than an existing PS 4.0 file? If you choose the wrong option you would get that message.

I double checked.. I am certainly opening the file the correct way.

I just tried to open a file I created after the update and it's giving me the same error.

Is there a way to revert back to before I updated?
