Good day, the Encore Support asked me to post in the forum. I have used PS $ Since I bought it Probably at least a year ago if not more. NO issues. Then a month ago, it would not open. It will show in the task manager and get to about 8-9 CPU then stop. When I contacted support ehy said yes we know and sent an update with the email and it worked for a month. Now it is doping the same thing again. I went back to support three times, they had me try various things, from deleting files, etc... NOTHING it starts to open then nothing. Anyone know?
Thank you in advance!

Hello LogHomeMom,

Thank you very much for posting to our forums I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble using The Print Shop 4.0

Usually Technical Support issues are handled either by email or by telephone. Using the information you used to register on our forum, I don't see any contact to us through our Technical Support department, so I am sending you some information through our Support System in just a moment with instructions to check if you have the latest build of the program.

Okay, I was able to find you in the system, unfortunately, if the fixes did not resolve the problem then there is no solution at this time. I do apologize for the trouble The Print Shop 4.0 has caused you and encourage you to check out the refund information that was provided to you in the email should you want a refund of the program.

I had a similar problem. The program stopped working after a series of Windows updates. I don't know if that was the cause or just coincidence.

I completely uninstalled the program, then reinstalled. That worked, but only AFTER I deleted a file that didn't disappear during the uninstall. The file is userData.psDb. It is located in C > Users > yourname > AppData > Local > The Print Shop > The Print Shop 4.0.

Make sure that file is deleted before you reinstall.

@ellengard I was so excited when I got your replay. I tried this and sadly it has not worked. I don't understand how the patch worked for a month then stopped.
I go to open in and watch it on task manager, it goes up to about 9.8 CPU and then back down to 0 and closes. It s so sad. They have not come out with a new one.
Thank you however, I so appreciate the reply!
Diane

Hi, Diane. Just checking to confirm that you:

  1. uninstalled the program
  2. deleted userData.psDb
  3. shut down the computer
  4. start up
  5. install the program
  6. install the patch

Sorry, I'm stumped. My expertise is with how to make projects with the program, not the tech side of things. I hope there is a solution for you so you don't have to get a refund.

Hi there, you had replied to my post about PS4 not opening, it sits in the tasks manager and then disappears.
So I went back to PS 3, JUST LAST NIGHT, PS 3 started doing the same thing. I deleted the program and reinstalled, and now can't locate a patch but it is still doing the same thing. I am just heartbroken. I have been up almost all night.
I have been using print shop since you started 20 years ago, I have hundreds of files. I need to open some and can't. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

Is there any way you can try installing Print Shop 4.0 on another Win 10 computer? The reason I suggest this is because the program just won't work on my computer anymore either, but works just fine on my husband's computer. I can only suspect that something is different on my computer.

I think it's my graphics card because my son ran some kind of diagnostic that said one of the integrated components was damaged. Nothing serious enough to affect web browsing or streaming videos, but I wouldn't be able to play 3D games which I don't anyways so I didn't care. Perhaps though it was serious enough to affect Print Shop 4.0.

Not asking you to use your husband's computer forever, just to test if the program works. Because if it also doesn't work on your husband's computer, it could be that the program itself got corrupted. If that's the case, maybe you could ask for a replacement.

If you can confirm it also won't work on your husband's computer, then there's no hope. If it does work, then there's hope. Can't really proceed unless we know there's hope.
