In PM7 I used to set up a project as a Place Certificate for a sailing regatta, say 1st Place. I then exported as a .jpg file into My Pictures file. For 2nd and subsequent place certificates I simply edited the text box and exported as a new named .jpg file leaving the original PM project as the master file. That way, for the next event I came back to the master project file, edited text boxes as needed and exported individual Place .jpg files as before.
In PM12 I seem to have to save each certificate as a separate project in order to export it. Is there any way to avoid having to do this?

I am using PrintMaster 2013 (aka 5.0) which is version 2012 with some tweaks. I can export as JPG without having to save my edits. I made three consecutive edits along with three exports to JPG, then I closed the project and did not save any of the changes.

So I guess this is one of those tweaks. However, there is no mail merge function and no text stretching (except Headlines).

I dug out my old WinXP laptop with PrintMaster 2011. It also can export as JPG without having to save. Are you sure you are forced to save your project in order to do an export? When prompted Do you want to save your changes... can't you say no and continue?

Thanks for responses and suggestion. I tried saying "No" to save and was able to export a file without changing the basic file.
However each export is put into a new sub-folder in My Pictures. I can't see where I can name each file before it is exported or make them go into the same folder?

Yeah, unfortunately there are no options for this - just the default. I think the reason it creates a sub-folder is to contain the multiple JPGs that are created from a multi-page project, like greeting cards.
