Hello, Kevin,

I am a volunteer moderator at the Encore forum, not employed by Encore.
I am happy to offer advice at the forums and if the discussion at the
forums exceeds its intended scope, we can email.

However, I can already discern that the problem you are having is
related to the file size of your web project. At 45 pages and 215 MB,
the program can no longer generate the web files. Please post at the
forum and I will recommend options for reducing the file size without
sacrificing content.

Linda

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have saved the web into my web folder..

I can preview the entire web site and all pages etc. work perfectly.

However when i try to publish to the web folder I get the attached
error message. box.

This web site has been operating for a number of years and we are
losing money each day it is down.

The project has 45 pages, numerous JPGs and GIFs and the 'PUB' file
is 215 MG.

Is there a way we could talk by phove one on one, I will call you
wherever you are?

Kevin M. Ryan

Please post your PrintShop 23 questions in this Encore forum:
http://forums.encoreusa.com/tt.asp?forumid=240
To help answer your question, I need to know what you mean by "no
longer allow me to build it to the web". This is a general description
like "it stopped working".

The project won't open? The project won't save after editing? Problem
with FTP? Problem with the HTML generation?

If your website is active, please provide the URL.

See you on the forum.

It would be helpful to see your site. Please provide the URL. I suspect it is graphics heavy and that would provide us with the opportunity to significantly reduce the project's file size simply by using resampled images.

Don't publish to web. Publish to folder. Do you still get an error?

In your email to me, you informed me of the response you received from Customer Support:

"Print Shop 23.1 is not designed to make a 40 plus page website, the project files can be no larger than 20MB and larger than that it creates issues with the file and the program."

This statement has always been true. There have been previous posts where users with files over 20 MB have irretrievably lost their projects because the save was corrupted. Other times, saving a huge file crashed their computers.

That you still have an uncorrupted file of over 200 MB is a lucky anomaly. If you haven't already, make back up copies.

The good news is that a web project does not require high resolution images whereas print projects do. So you can do a lot to reduce file size by replacing high res photos with low res versions. (resampling) If necessary, your web project can also be split into two smaller web projects.

Post back here if you need more info on how to resample your JPGs.

If you need to buy time with your customer, I can create an HTML file to update ONE of your pages and send it to you. Need to see your site, though.

Any and all of your pages can be updated immediately by directly editing the HTML files. However, if the need is not immediately, take the time to reduce the project's file size. That will likely allow the publish to folder feature to work again.

Another option is to use a professional website design program which can open and edit your existing HTML files.
