I would like to make some custom labels - however the custom box does not ask for enough info - like how many labels per sheet - Margins on left and right and bottom - top, I make my own wine and in the old program I had Printmaster Platinum Version 18 I was able to use the Avery 5168 and Avery 5164 - they were close enough to my label dimensions, but I can find nothing similar in the new program for my mac (Printmaster v6). It would be ideal if it were possible to download my label into the program - anyone??

The program calculates it all for you so only requires these 4 items:
label width, label height, horizontal gap between labels, vertical gap between labels.

Try it. Works for all symmetrical label templates.

Ok - I tried it but it's still not working - the print preview shows there are only 2 labels on the sheet and there are actually 4. I put in Create from Scratch, Labels, Custom, Horizontal Gap .547 and Vert gap .1563 My actual label is an Online Label from Online labels.com - it is symmetrical - you can view the label at www.onlinelabels.com/instructions/OL475WI

OL475WI is the label #

Thank you

OK, I'm looking at that label. It appears that the vertical gap is 0.0 and the horizontal gap is 0.187, by my calculations. (8.5 minus the width of the two labels minus the left and right margins)

Hmm, something weird going on here. I've done several tests and it seems that if the label height is greater than 4", the page orientation switches to landscape and this messes up the max number of labels that the sheet should hold.

Let me find out if it's just me or if it is a program bug.

---------------------------

BTW, you used the numbers specified as the margins which is the area between the edge of the page and the label. Gap measurements are between a label and the label next to it.

Yes, I realize I used the margins instead of the gaps - I had already tried the gaps and that didn't work so I was trying something else. Thank you for looking into this - The primary reason I purchased this program was to make unique and creative wine labels for my homemade wine

As a workaround, you can still make your design using PrintMaster's art and special effects tools. Use a Sign project. Export as JPG. Download the program and template from Online Labels. Make your wine labels with that program using your JPG.

Are you saying there is no way to make a custom label I need in the program?

The custom label maker for labels taller than 4", does not work, as far as I can tell. That's why I mention using the free program from onlinelabels.com since you bought your labels from there.

Alternatively, you can design your label on a full page project and just copy and paste to have four on the page.

Copying and pasting 4 on a page sounds like a nightmare in alignment - :(

I am also trying to use an online label #OL150WJ - it also changes this label sheet to landscape when I put in the dimensions - and this label is smaller, not over 4" - am I doing it wrong or is the program defective? The dimensions of this label are available at onlinelabels.com

It works perfectly for label #OL150WJ. You probably miscalculated the gap numbers.

Not if you add guide lines.

Here is an example I made using the 4x3.33 (6 per sheet) labels.

(horizontal gap = .188; vertical gap = 0)
