can text linking be done in Printmaster 7 from one page to another, or only on the same page?

Unfortunately, no, it only works on the same page.

If you are looking for a good program for making newsletters with linking text boxes across columns and pages, neither the new PrintMaster nor the new Print Shop can do that. However, Encore does sell Page Plus, an affordable and excellent program for newsletter creating and publishing. I especially like it because of its built-in PDF writer that can embed the fonts you use in your newsletter project.

I should add that I don't know if this is Win 10 compatible - I've been running it on Win 7.
