I have imported my address book from version 21 to 3.5 but cannot get labels to print. I have followed directions-opened new project, inserted text box, selected fields and inserted, selected contacts, hit save, and when I go to print preview, the page is blank. I contacted tech support, sent her my old address file, and she was able to make it work and print labels. Do not know what I am doing wrong.

Are you using the set up mail merge?

Make sure you have clicked outside the project i.e. nothing is selected. If an element is selected the mail merge always prints blank.

I have been working on this most of the day and am successful only about 1/2 the time. Let me review my steps so you can tell me what I am doing wrong. Blank project, label sheet, create a text box, double click in box, select and insert fields, select home and mail merge, select addresses, hit save, save the project, go to and open project, print preview. I am unclear what you mean by clicking outside the box. I feel like I am close but cannot repeat the steps to always be successful. Many thanks.

What ellengard was saying is that you should click on a portion of the window that does not include any portion of the label project, so that nothing on the project is selected. The easiest thing to do would be to click on the white background of the design screen.

I finally figured it out. I wasn't correctly changing the text style and font size. Many thanks.

I am trying to print labels and have two questions. Is there a way to set the margins as my labels have a decorative left edge, and I need to move all three columns to the right about a 1/2 inch? Also when I want to print the labels starting in a different row or column, the labels still print from column 1, row 1. How do I fix this? Thank you!

You don't physically move the labels off-center. You move the text box over to the right.

See the screen capture below. In this example, I want to only print the last 9 labels. Edit your settings to choose which label position you wish to start printing from.

Ellengard, you are so very helpful! Thank you. Alright, I was able to move the text box and change the start of the label printing. But I am still unable to print the last 9 labels for example. I click the print tab, indicate the starting position and click continue, change the number of items, and hit print but it prints from column and row 1. I am sure there is a trick I am missing. Thanks again for anymore direction you can provide.

Sounds to me like you are doing everything correctly. I suspect your printer is not 100% compatible with this program, but maybe there are updated drivers for your printer that will fix this problem.

Go to your printer's website and download/install the latest appropriate drivers for your printer.
